This flagship of our Sidewinder series looks more than ever the part this season and really lives up to its promise, the revolutionary turbo-powered 998cc Genesis 180 engine delivering awesome power and torque in all conditions. Paired with its advanced Mountain chassis, suspension, track and ski design, the result is a truly impressive and enjoyable machine.

  • Genesis Turbo 998cc 4-stroke engine

    The most advanced and powerful engine ever to hit the snowmobile industry, this smooth, flexible 3-cylinder unit breathes easily at any altitude - in any conditions. Massive torque and pulling power are assured across the rev band, with instant throttle response and no 'turbo lag'. A genuine power revolution in the 'real' 180HP class.

  • Mountain chassis with lightweight ski spindles

    Our latest chassis, first developed for the SRViper Mountain series, features lightweight ski spindles to allow a narrower ski stance without compromising the innovative, high performance design of the suspension geometry. So weight is kept low and strength high. The result is razor-sharp agility and a superbly balanced ride.

  • A riding position tuned to the mountains

    The short, high seat, tapered towards the front, works together with the tall riser handlebar position - with mountain strap - to give you great comfort and control over the agile chassis. Easy counter steering on steep sidehills comes naturally too.

  • Independent double wishbone front suspension

    An outstanding characteristic of our Sidewinder models is the unique suspension design and ski geometry, and for the extreme M-TX LE 162 we've fitted FOX FLOAT® QS3 shocks. These deliver ultra-responsive handling, but with the strength needed to handle the demands of the very deepest powder and steepest mountainsides.

  • Springless 162 rear suspension

    There's an impressive range of easily adjustable tuning options, thanks to the FOX FLOAT® shocks - QS3 centres and a QSL rear shock with climb lock-out, which features compression settings of Light, Medium and 'Locked' (1-2-L). In deep snow, the 'L' position prevents rear-arm squat and exaggerated ski lift, for greater control and performance.

  • Camoplast® Power Claw 3.0"/76mm track

    A stunning performer in all conditions, the Camoplast® Power Claw track features 3.0 inch (76 mm) lugs. The 2018 model features a flatter (by 9.7º) track approach angle (thanks to a drive shaft lowered by 28.5mm) resulting in more floatability and manoeuvrability, with outstanding levels of grip and propulsion, particularly in deep snow.

  • Deluxe instrument panel with dual digital displays

    Multiple sensors monitor engine data continuously to provide essential information. Speed, rpm, fuel, oil temperature and pressure and a range of trip-related data can be selected. Like a clock with hour-meter, 'distance travelled' - and even an altimeter! The heated seat and rear storage bag are extra luxuries.

  • Yamaha YSRC clutch system

    The technically advanced YSRC clutch is designed to handle the impressive torque and high power output of the 998cc Yamaha 4-stroke engine. Shifting is extremely efficient with a fast backshift response to match. The high strength castings, efficient cooling and finely tuned settings combine to give excellent V-belt durability and low maintenance.
